The Grove, London’s country estate, has underlined its position as one of the UK’s finest golf destinations, by claiming ‘The Ultimate Golf Resort’ accolade at the annual 59club Service Excellence Awards.
The resort, set within 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, less than 25 miles from central London, claimed the coveted award during a glittering ceremony staged at The Belfry Hotel & Resort in the West Midlands.
Regarded by many as the golf industry ‘Oscars’, the 59club Service Excellence Awards recognise all business elements, including sales, service, operations, retail, food and beverage, venue facilities and management.
Resorts were marked independently by a visitor panel to ensure a fair, unbiased, and accurate representation of customer service, with the ultimate aim of improving or maintaining the highest-levels of service and satisfaction in the golf industry.
Simon Wordsworth, Chief Executive at 59club and a Fellow of the PGA, said: “Congratulations to the team at The Grove, who are committed to the highest standards of excellence and do a fantastic job. This was demonstrated by excellent performance in our mystery shopper tests.”
In addition to being named ‘The Ultimate Golf Resort’, The Grove was also one of only seven UK resorts to receive the coveted Gold Flag award, which rewards consistently outstanding ‘mystery shopper’ assessments.
Anna Darnell, Director of Golf & Resort Experiences at The Grove, commented: “It is an honour to receive an award that underlines our commitment to five-star customer service. It is also testament to our highly-professional, dedicated team who work tirelessly to ensure every guest receives a first class experience.”
Sitting alongside the critically-acclaimed 18-hole Kyle Phillips-designed golf course, The Grove also offers luxury accommodation in 26 historic Mansion House suites, as well as 191 rooms within the contemporary West Wing, close to the Sequoia Spa where guests can indulge in a variety of treatments and therapies.
