Making the visa process smooth and easy along with granting of visa-free entry to Qatar to some 80 nationalities are the measures which are being considered as a blessing for the already thriving hotel industry of the country. Improvement in the policies of tourist visa along with hotels undertaking unexplored markets into their purview are being anticipated to provide the hospitality sector the much needed push!
The announcement in previous Wednesday was greeted by the hotels across the country open-handed. This announcement came a month after the initiation to develop the services for e-visa was born that allow registered hotels and tourism establishments to make complete online applications fully for air passengers.
At present, there are around 242 nationalities who are entitled to apply for this visa online. Hospitality firms and tourism offices having a valid QTA license are qualified to complete their guests online visa applications through recently activated feature on www.qatarvisaservice.com.
“The introduction of e-visa services will enable us to become open to new markets. These new markets are supported through the vast network of Qatar Airways, Discover Qatar and Visit Qatar, as well as the extensive network of Global Sales Offices of hotel brands such as Minor Hotels Group,” Thomas Fehlbier, General Manager at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, told The Peninsula.
