The Qatar Cabinet permits QTA to set up tourism companies

qatar tourism authorityThe Qatar Cabinet has allowed Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) to take the necessary measures to set up tourism companies in the country in co-ordination with the entities concerned.

The decision was taken at the regular weekly meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, chaired by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani at the Emiri Diwan.

Various efforts are in the pipeline to boost Qatar’s tourism sector and attract visitors from around the world. The UNWTO Secretary-General Dr. Taleb Rifai has praised the efforts taken by Qatar for developing a sustainable tourism sector.

The Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Melescanu met with ambassador of Qatar to Romania, Abdullah bin Nasser al-Hemaidi in Bucharest and their talks during the meeting covered bilateral relations and how to enhance them, as well as issues of mutual concern.


The Public Security Director-General Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi met with Swedish ambassador to Qatar Ewa Polano in Doha. Their meeting discussed aspects of co-operation on topics of mutual interest.
