In partnership with Basel Aero, Turkish Airlines, and Toronto Travel & Tourism Co, the Russian Tourism Office based in Kuwait prearranged a tour in the Russian city of Sochi on the Black Sea for the representatives of Kuwaiti travel agents. At the time of the visit, the team met a number of representatives in the Russian government and tourism sector to talk about enhancing cooperation and organizing trips for the visitors from Kuwaiti to Sochi during summer, winter and other times. The team also explored quite a few hotels and apartment buildings like the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Gorki resorts and Rosa Khutor.
Sergey Yurchenko, Sochi’s deputy mayor stated that the city welcomes over seven million tourists every year. It has a hotel capacity of 100,000 rooms. He further added that it’s a new-age modern destination with immensely improved infrastructure overlooking the Black Sea with different water sports for extra thrill. He explained that the city has over fifty mineral water springs along with the largest spas besides luxury ski resorts, which make it the Russian ‘Switzerland’.
Yurchenko requested Kuwaiti tourists to come to Sochi and include in their destination plans during the summer, where they can relish the fine weather with temperatures 20 degrees approximately on the Black Sea coast and minus five degrees on the mountains.
