Kartalkaya, one of Turkey’s well-known ski tourism centers in northwestern Bolu province and the Palandöken Ski Center situated in eastern Erzurum province, carry on to lure thousands of international and local tourists around the New Year.
Visitors and their families from young to old, near and far, are relishing the long winter season by indulging in skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing in resorts, as those who do not have their equipment has the chance to rent it from hotels.
Kartalkaya ski resort, spread across 70 kilometers (43 miles) in 25 different tracks is situated in the Köroğlu Mountains in the Black Sea province of Bolu. The resort is at the peak of the Köroğlu Mountains, having an elevation of 2,200 meters (7,218 feet).
Vacationers get an opportunity to witness compelling natural beauty of the Kındıra village and snow-covered forest.
Palandöken is one of Turkey’s most easily reachable ski resort, situated roughly 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Erzurum Airport. From capital Ankara, Palandöken is an hour’s journey via airplane and almost an-hour-and-a-half from Istanbul and Izmir.
“It takes a maximum of 15 minutes to get to the ski resort from Erzurum airport. This is not only a privilege for Palandöken but also for Erzurum,” Sway Hotel Deputy Manager Ömer Akça told Anadolu Agency.
