Celebrated worldwide, the World Tourism Day at European Council on Tourism and Trade is commemorated usually at the end of September each year and is hosted in the capital of the country, which is crowned as World’s Best Tourist Destination of the Year.

Tourism has an instrumental role in promoting cultural knowledge and awareness, offering the necessary tools and public opinion support in protecting world heritage.

World Tourism Day is celebrated around the world in every country and city interested in harnessing the power of tourism for growth, development and cultural identity.
Keeping in respect with this tradition, the European Council on Tourism and Trade designated Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia as the organizer and host of World Tourism Day 2018 ceremonies.

The main role of the World Tourism Day is to highlight the global significance of tourism as a tool for global development and cultural enlightenment. Tourism is the greatest educator in the world, said the European Council on Tourism and Trade President Dr. Anton Caragea.

This is one of the goals of the World Tourism Day celebrations that are being conducted throughout the world.

  1. Our Heritage and Culture can be protected by ensuring that during exhibitions, our people are taught about the importance of our Heritage for current and future generations. Ensuring adequate lessons for our people by implementing policies to protect our Fauna and Flora, the mandate should be to create a lifelong learning for our people. Create employment opportunities for the community in terms of sustaining jobs for locals in our lodges and safaris. For this year’s theme please make sure that during that tourism week you visit local schools and areas to educate them about the importance of our Heritage, in terms of our economy and our country going forth.

  2. Thank you for the theme of Tourism Day
