Indian actor, director, filmmaker and TV talk-show host, Aamir Khan, made his first visit to Northern Ireland this week, to speak at the Belfast Film Festival. His visit was supported by Tourism Ireland and the British Council.
As well as taking part in a special “In Conversation” session at the Waterfront Hall, Aamir also enjoyed a tour of Belfast, with a stop at Titanic Belfast. Tourism Ireland in India will share a photo of Aamir at Titanic Belfast with influential Indian travel journalists, as well as with its fans and followers on social media.
“We were delighted to welcome Aamir Khan to Northern Ireland,” said Aubrey Irwin, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Emerging Markets. “He is a huge star in India, so his visit is a wonderful opportunity for us to raise awareness of Belfast and Northern Ireland among Indian travellers – encouraging them to follow in his footsteps and put Northern Ireland on their holiday ‘wish list’ for 2019”.
In 2018, we welcomed around 45,000 visitors from India to the island of Ireland, according to Tourism Ireland.
