Greater Toronto Airports Authority and Greyhound Bus Lines today officially opened new direct service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and more than ten major cities in Ontario. Ruby Sahota, MP for Brampton North and Ontario Caucus Chair, attended the event and helped to cut the ribbon on the new service. This ground transportation partnership will open doors for more sustainable choices by Ontario residents and create exciting tourism opportunities for travellers to explore the province’s smaller cities.
“I support this partnership because it creates a high-quality, affordable transit option for Ontarians,” said Ruby Sahota, MP for Brampton North and Ontario Caucus Chair. “Whether you are an Ontario resident looking to access international air travel opportunities, or a visitor exploring our province, this partnership gets more cars off the road and opens doors for sustainable travel.”
“For Toronto Pearson to realize its vision of being the best airport in the world, we have to ensure that passengers and the 300,000 people who work in the Airport Employment Zone have convenient access to the airport and surrounding area,” said Howard Eng, President and CEO, Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “Moreover, we need to unlock the possibilities of our region by giving visitors more ground transit options so they can easily explore all that Southern Ontario has to offer. Finally, our operations must be environmentally sustainable, and getting more cars off the road is one of the ways we can accomplish this. Our partnership with Greyhound Canada helps us to achieve all of these important objectives, and for this reason is a significant step in Toronto Pearson’s ongoing growth journey.”
“We’re excited to offer service at the Toronto Pearson International Airport,” said Stuart Kendrick, senior vice president, Greyhound Canada. “The airport location, where we offer 20 daily schedules, makes it easier for customers to travel to and from Toronto and surrounding areas, or tour the region. Having multiple modes of transportation under one roof is a more sustainable option, promotes eco-friendly travel and provides seamless connectivity for residents who live in communities without access to air travel. It offers the best of both worlds in one location.”
Greyhound Bus Lines operate daily routes from Toronto Pearson to destinations in Ontario and the northern United States. Direct, non-stop service is available to multiple destinations in Ontario, while riders can connect to Toronto Pearson through Greyhound’s network of over 3,800 stops.
