download (1)On behalf of the Thai tourism industry, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to express our deepest condolences to the people of Japan and everyone affected by the recent earthquake that struck the island of Kyushu.

The links between the people of Thailand and Japan go back over 600 years and are now stronger than ever before. Thailand and Japan have long worked together to promote tourism between the two nations, and Japan is one of our top five markets. Nearly 1.4 million travellers from Japan visited Thailand in 2015 and almost 800,000 Thai tourists travelled to Japan. These figures are growing year on year.

In this time of grief and mourning in your country, the prayers of the Thai people are with you. The longstanding solidarity between our nations is unbreakable, and this recent tragedy will only strengthen our resolve to support the people of Japan as they rebuild and recover.
