‘Give Me 5’ a new tourism campaign launched by the Tourism Authority of Thailand is set to attract an additional 200,000 visitors from India and six ASEAN countries during July to September considered as the off-peak season.
Families, women and incentive groups from 19 cities in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mynamar, Malaysia and Cambodia which are targeted by the TAT’s campaign partner airlines, Thai Airways International and Thai Smile Airways will be targeted.
On a broad range of products and services visitors travelling on the partner airlines on any flight between now and 30 September, 2019 can avail discounts between 5-50%.
This will include privileges at the campaign’s partner retail shopping outlets The Mall Group, Central Group and Ratchprasong Business District Association in Bangkok.
To counter the baggage weight restrictions shoppers will be able to get an extra allowance of five kilogrammes per person on the return sector to their home cities by the partner airlines.
A total of more than 10 million arrivals in 2018 took place in the countries chosen for the campaign. So far, there has been a strong growth which is compensating for the temporary slowdown in arrivals from China.
