Tourism in Barcelona has come back to normal after the incidents of Islamist militant attacks that killed 16 people in Catalonia in August. Spain’s energy and tourism minister Alvaro Nadal spoke about the bouncing back of tourism after a meeting with sector representatives in the capital.
Nadal said that growth in flights to Barcelona, one of Europe’s most popular tourist city destinations had dipped a little after the attacks but is now coming back to normal again.
To quote Nadal, “Very few days have passed and we’re already seeing the recuperation.
The initial shock is normal and always happens in these situations, but it has been much less than in comparable cases.”
