Tourism expenditure in California’s Oceanside has crossed $351 million, setting a new record

California’s OceansideThe tourists visiting California’s Oceanside had spent a record of $351 million in the North County city in 2017.

 

 

It is according to the data released at the 8th Annual Tourism Summit showed that there is about 10 percent increase from 2016. The visitors are directly supporting 3,300 local tourism jobs in tourism.

 

 

 

Leslee Gaul, CEO of Visit Oceanside said that the end of the recession has certainly helped tourism growth, but even more impactful in attracting visitors to our city is the combination of a flourishing food and craft beer scene, compelling cultural offerings and exciting recreational offerings that continue to push the limits in fun.

 

 

The tourists spending on hotel rooms in 2017 totaled $240 million, generating $7 million in taxes to help support city services.

 

 

The study also noted that the largest portion of visitor dollars is spent on foods. It reflects the popularity of the Oceanside burgeoning dining scene in recent years.
