For the quarter to June, AOT (Airports of Thailand) published 8% increase in net profit, marked by the constant increase in air traffic. This leading airport operator netted 5.39 billion baht in the April-June quarter. This accounted 7.9 percent annual growth on 13.89 billion baht in revenue.
A constant rise in aircraft traffic due to tourism has profited AoT a lot along with revival of influx of Chinese visitors and the growth of low-cost carriers amongst political shakiness.
AoT reported a steady 9% increase in non-aeronautical revenue to 5.93 billion baht and 6.2% growth in aeronautical income.
The period from April till June enhanced the joint profit for AoT’s nine-month period of fiscal 2017 that concludes in September, by 12.1% to 16.89 billion baht.
For the nine months, revenue grew by 6.7% to 42.11 billion baht, a result of a 4.9% increase in terms of aeronautical revenue to 23.01 billion baht and a 9.3% growth in non-aeronautical revenue to 17.76 billion baht.
AoT reported that the movements of aircrafts through the six airports have raised 6.1% in nine months to 616,708, while passenger throughput was up 7.5% at 96.77 million.
