The Economic Development Department of Huron County has recently declared a plan to perk up the traffic related to tourism in the county.

Communications and Marketing Officer, Katie Marshall has explained that they’re aiming on four main areas and they are gathering info on the people who visit Huron County, enthusing all the tourism operators to work together, boost up the Huron County brand and create a clear as well as reliable signage for visitors to Huron.

Marshall explains they want visitors who are keen to explore Huron County to have a better understanding.

“We don’t have a clear picture of what our visitors look like, how many are coming and what they’re doing when they come here. So we want to get those numbers in order to help us promote the county further. The second issue is we want our tourism operators to work more collaboratively together to move the industry forward.”

“We want to help increase the brand and any coordinated marketing efforts around that. And we want to implement some clear, consistent signage that helps visitors feel safe and helps them find their way around the county”, said Marshall.

Marshall mentioned that they’ve by now starting working on some of the targets and they’ll get started on the others as the tourism season gets closer.
