The buyers – all representatives of business tourism companies in France – were here to experience some of our venues and conference facilities, as well as some of the many things to see and do in Northern Ireland. Their itinerary included visits to Titanic Belfast, St George’s Market and the new conference facilities at Belfast Waterfront. They also spent time in Fermanagh, enjoying a food cruise on Lough Erne, as well as tours of Castle Coole and Crom Castle.
Monica MacLaverty, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Southern Europe, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these influential business tourism buyers to visit Northern Ireland. Seeing is believing – so fact-finding visits like this are extremely important to help build awareness of Northern Ireland and our world-class business tourism and conference facilities among key influencers.
“France is one of the top markets for tourism to Northern Ireland and we have a really extensive autumn campaign in full swing right now – aimed at boosting late-season travel to Northern Ireland from France and elsewhere around the globe.”
