Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by WOW air of a new, year-round flight from Iceland (Keflavik International Airport) to Cork, starting in May 2017. This new service will certainly help boost leisure travel from Iceland to Cork and the South of Ireland. It is also good news for tourism from North America, with WOW air offering good connections, via Reykjavik, from eight American and Canadian gateways to Cork.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Today’s announcement is good news for tourism to Cork and the South of Ireland. Not only will it help grow visitor numbers from Iceland, but this new service will also offer connectivity between North America and Cork. We look forward to co-operating with WOW air, Cork Airport and other tourism partners, to maximise the promotion of this new service from Reykjavik to Cork.”
