Tourism New Zealand recently hosted a group of four travel industry directors and senior members of the staff from India. The seven day visit covered regions across the North and South Islands showcasing some of New Zealand’s most luxurious experiences for high end Free and Independent Travellers (FIT) luxury travellers.
The group had the opportunity to visit boutique and luxury lodges such as Delamore Lodge, The Boatshed, Mollies Luxury Boutique Hotel, Raetihi Lodge, Eichardt’s Private Hotel, Matakauri Lodge, Millbrook Resort and The Rees in the regions of Auckland, Marlborough Sounds, and Queenstown.
In downtown Auckland, the group visited The Sugar Club at the top of the iconic Skytower, to try New Zealand’s ‘mixed and matched’ Asian and European flavours. Just 35 minutes away on Waiheke Island, they visited Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant before trying out Ecozip Adventure.
The industry directors then travelled south to Marlborough Sounds where they experienced a helicopter ride by Tasman Helicopters and sipped on New Zealand’s Sauvignon Blanc at Brancott Estate Heritage Centre. The group then went for a short guided walk on the Queen Charlotte Track followed by a kayaking trip by Wilderness Guides in the Sounds. This was followed by a visit to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, Blenheim.
In Queenstown, the party experienced an exclusive Maori Haka and other culture performances. They also got a taste of New Zealand’s love for adventure while going on a breathtaking ride on the Shotover jet.
