The tourism officials from ASEAN, China, South Korea & Japan talked on tourism cooperation

On Thursday, the tourism officials from ASEAN, China, South Korea and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to fortify their cooperation to turn the region even more competitive worldwide.


Zhang Xu, the vice minister of culture and tourism of China, headed a Chinese delegation to the 19th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Tourism Ministers in Bandar Seri Begawan, the Bruneian capital.


Zhang and his counterparts at the meeting assessed the performance of the tourism industry of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), China, Japan and South Korea in 2018.


The tourism officials talked about the problems comprising the execution of the ASEAN+3 memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation, ASEAN+3 tourism cooperation work plan 2018-2020 along with the endorsement of international cooperation to turn hotel service industry even more smart, attractive and sustainable in line with the ASEAN Vision 2025.


The tourism ministers or their representatives from 10 ASEAN member countries and its three dialogue partners – China, Japan and South Korea, and representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat took part in the meeting.
