Tourism Oman launches new website to facilitate your next trip to Dhofar

Oasis websiteOn Sunday the 28th of June 2015 Sayyid Adil Al Mardas Al Busaidi Advisor of Tourism Affairs in the Ministry of Tourism, launched a new website aimed at providing tourists to Dhofar with various information and services, as thousands of travelers from Oman and the GCC are all set to visit the green governorate from end-to-end during the upcoming Khareef season.

 

 

The website, which serves as a stress-free travel guide for tourists, lists all the attractions, services, activities and places to discover in all the wilayats of Dhofar. It also offers car rental services and features a list of accommodations including hotels and hotel apartments.

 

 

To ensure a safe and sound trip to Dhofar, the MoT has recently inaugurated an around-the-clock call center based in the Traveller’s Oasis center. Browsers can check the website in both English and Arabic languages.

 

 

From discovering the lost city of Awbar and Salalah’s historic Al Baleed Archaeological Park, to enjoying the lush green scenery in Rakhyut, the website guides its visitors throughout the popular destinations in the governorate.

 

 

To reach mobile users, the website will soon be also available as a free application and will be launched on Android and iOS, according to MoT.

 

 

Sayyid Adil Al Mardas Al Busaidi Advisor of Tourism Affairs (MoT) stated “The Traveller’s Oasis, an integrated rest area with a full range of tourist services, features a luxurious administrative tent that will provide information, hotel outlet and booking details and will remain open 24/7 ”

 

 

After a long journey, visitors can enjoy dining at restaurants and buying handicrafts at the Oasis. Located at the Salalah City gate, the modern information centre also features praying halls for males and females, toilets and an area for children’s games. All these facilities are being provided free of charge, in addition to a parking area that can accommodate 150 vehicles.

 

 

Sayyid Adil Al Mardas Al Busaidi Advisor of Tourism Affairs (MoT) also added that it is remains very important to follow new technology trends, as well as have the knowledge required to effectively respond to challenges of global competition, and by using the Internet and multimedia, this will help the tourist get the required information effortlessly.
