The promotional campaign is a great platform to showcase Selangor to Europe.
Selangor, with its history and culture, bustling cities and scenic villages, besides modern infrastructure and gastronomical delights, is said to be a great a choice destination for local and international travellers. Its popularity among travellers is reflected in the increase in visitors during the past few years.
According to Standing Committee for Tourism, Environment, Green Technology and Consumer Affairs Selangor chairman Elizabeth Wong, “Out of the 7.4 million international tourists recorded last year, 400,000 were from Europe. The number has increased 2% from the previous year.”
According to Tourism Selangor general manager Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din, the hashtag-slogan #TakeMeAnywhere is meant to showcase Selangor as a prime hub for transport, development, investment, business, education, medicine and much more.
“As one of the most developed states in Malaysia, Selangor has many historical and heritage places of interest for tourists. District-level Visit Year will spur local authorities to develop their districts with its many places of interest to be more tourist-friendly and easily accessible to visitors,” she said further.
Among the districts featured is Kuala Langat, besides Mah Meri Cultural Village in Carey Island, Kuala Langat.
