As per latest passenger statistics, April was a highly successful month for Almeria airport. More than 34,000 people arrived from abroad during the month, which is more than 1,000 a day on an average.
The figures signify a quantum leap of 28.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. This suggests that the province can expect a record-breaking summer.
Brits did their part to improve numbers with the number of British arrivals rising by 22.2 per cent this year. The Brexit vote has done nothing to dampen a lasting passion for Spain.
The number of Belgians also increased substantially. German arrivals are expected to swell to 9,000 up from 3,500 the previous year over the summer, all thanks to a massive advertising campaign and new direct connections to key German cities.
