The holidays have arrived in Vancouver – and what better time of year to shop the city and soak up the surrounding festive atmosphere? And thanks to Tourism Vancouver’s first-ever Vancouver Holiday Shopping Days promotion, visitors can extend their shopping excursion into a fun-filled holiday getaway.
Available now, more than 20 Vancouver hotels are offering special discounted room rates of $88, $118 and $148 CAD, as well as a selection of exclusive shopping and holiday-themed packages. Rates are available for stays taking place between November 22 and December 1, and can be booked through www.tourismvancouver.com/shop.
Additionally, guests who book an exclusive Vancouver Holiday Shopping Days rate or package will also receive a $50 cash card and complimentary passes aboard an exclusive hop-on, hop-off trolley*. Winding past the city’s popular holiday attractions, shopping destinations and neighbourhoods, the shopping trolley will whisk passengers to Gastown, the West End, Granville Island, South Granville and West 4th Avenue.
Teaming up with Vancouver Holiday Shopping Days are two city-wide shopping events, including RedDot Shopping Week (November 23 to 28), and Vancouver Black Friday (November 29 to December 1). Enticing visitors and residents to shop local, the events feature Boxing Day-like sale prices and in-store shopping soirées. And with plenty of holiday events taking place across Vancouver – including a free outdoor Christmas festival, an authentic German Christmas Market, the Santa Claus Parade and more – there couldn’t be a better time to experience the city’s festive atmosphere.
“These hotel offers are great for out-of-towners and neighbouring B.C. residents to turn an afternoon of shopping into a festive weekend getaway,” said Candice Gibson, manager of Consumer Marketing for Tourism Vancouver. “Why head south of the border when there’s such a great selection of discounted shopping offers and holiday happenings right here in the city?”
