The Greek island of Aegina witnessed a tragic crash between a speed boat and a tourist boat, which resulted in death and devastation throughout the region. Three men, along with a little kid, were killed in the tragic accident near Aegina on Tuesday, 16th August.
About 21 people were rescued from the crash site near the island of Aegina and the deserted islet of Moni. Among the rescued tourists, four were reported to be severely injured.
Among the four unfortunate, who died in the tragic crash, one was believed to be the captain of the tourist boat and another was a mere child of nine years.
It was believed that 20 more people were on the tourist boat but the authorities could not reveal the exact figure. It was not clear how many people were riding the speedboat.
Patrol boats, helicopter and several private vessels continued the search and rescue operations for more survivors.
Aegina is one of the Greek islands, situated near Athens. According to the coast guard, the tourist boat was transporting travellers through the water near the islet of Moni. Moni is a deserted islet full of dears and peacocks. Several tourist boats take the holiday-makers from Perdika to the popular travel destination Moni, the islet with a sandy cove.
