Toyota’s Slide the Square has been launched in Melbourne’s Federation Square today by Acting Minister for Tourism and Major Events Philip Dalidakis helping tourists and locals alike to beat the heat of summer.
“Slide the Square is yet another great attraction here in Melbourne for families and friends to enjoy,” the Minister commented.
The giant inflatable water slide, running 75 metres, will be open 10am to 8pm daily until 15 January 2017. Toyota’s Slide the Square is part of the ‘Summer in Fed
Square’ initiative supported by the Victoria Government, running a series of attractions for visitors and locals to enjoy in the heart of Melbourne over the summer holiday period.
With a full program of music, films, cultural festivals, exhibitions, design markets and much more, Federation Square will continue to be a hive of activity throughout January in the lead up to the 2017 Australian Open where more than 700,000 attendees are expected.
“Fed Square is running a fantastic series of summer events this year that provide tourists with more activities to enjoy in the heart of the city and keep our local businesses busy during summer,” Philip said.
Initiatives such as the Summer in Fed Square series and a booming major events calendar that runs state-wide is what makes Victoria Australia’s events capital and further strengthens Melbourne’s reputation as the world’s most liveable city.
Tickets to Toyota’s Slide the Square can be purchased online via Ticketmaster or from the ticket booth at the Swanston Street Forecourt in Federation Square.
