Two trains have crashed outside Amarillo, which has given birth to a gigantic inferno and plumes of smoke. Two-dozen boxcars attached to both the trains have derailed.
Joe Faust, the company spokesperson of BNSF has informed that both the freight trains belong to their company.
According to KFDA, at least one has been found to be injured because of the head-on crash. The injured has been admitted to the Northwest Texas Hospital. The emergency team is still assessing the extent of the damage.
Although no citizen or tourist has been reported to be injured by the crash yet, the raging fire can create a crisis for them soon if it is not contained.
Fire department of the Texas town is still battling to extinguish the blaze to keep the tourists and residents safe. All the citizens and tourists in the town have been asked to cut down their water usage.
Tourists, who are heading towards Panhandle now, are advised to avoid this part of Texas while the fire is still ablaze.
The authorities are still searching for three missing people from the crash site.
When the collision of two freight trains can cause this much havoc, tourists and residents in Texas must be alert while travelling by passenger trains.
