MTPA-India, in collaboration with Air Mauritius conducted a Travel Agents Seminar in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Coimbatore. The product presentation was conducted by Mr. Vivek Anand -Country Manager, MTPA India and Mr Vinit Gupte – Manager India & South Asian Sub-continent, Air Mauritius. Mr. Vivek Anand said,”We are overwhelmed at the response of the travel trade partners in all three cities. He added,” Indians visiting Mauritius are increasingly looking for “different experiences” through a varied range of activities. Mauritius offers amazing activities for adventure lovers like sky diving, ziplining, quad biking, seakarting etc. It is seen that Indian travellers find ’Walking with the Lions’, submarine rides, helicopter tours very interesting and even considers these as a once in a lifetime experience.
Rum and tea tasting tours are also gaining popularity among the tourists. Those who are sports minded can enjoy a game of Golf at one of the many championship level courses in Mauritius. Indians, while in Mauritius, can enjoy long drives, shopping, night-life, delicious cuisine or simply rejuvenate themselves at the world class spas. Mauritius is a perfect MICE destination. Besides its natural splendour, the island has all the key facilities required for organising successful meetings, conferences and events. Luxurious hotel accommodation and attractive wedding packages make Mauritius a popular wedding destination as well.
While talking about the future marketing plans, Anand said, ”We will continue promoting Mauritius as a MICE, Wedding, Honeymoon, Adventure, Golf, Family and Luxury destination in 2016. As part of the promotional plan, MTPA, India will conduct Trade Presentations & Seminars in all major cities to increase the visibility of Mauritius to the trade and MICE partners. Familiarization trips will be organized for travel agents, wedding planners and media to promote Mauritius. MTPA India will continue participating in Trade, Wedding and MICE Fairs and sponsor Golf & Polo Tournaments. To promote Mauritius among the consumers, MTPA will run an advertising campaign besides having promotional activities on radio, electronic channels and in malls.
