James Phillips, president of Travel Bound, the leading supplier of fully independent travel to destinations around the globe, announced the restructuring of its sales and marketing team to better serve the needs of the company’s 60,000 clients in the United States and Canada.
“We have spent the past seven months building this dynamic new sales and marketing team that is a critical part of the evolution of the Travel Bound brand as an engaged and committed partner to the North American travel market,” said Phillips.
Leading the reorganized sales and marketing team is Thomas M. Ryder as the newly appointed Head of Sales for Travel Bound. Previously the Head of Group Sales for Kuoni Group Travel Experts and Travel Bound Groups, Ryder brings more than twenty years of experience in the travel industry and has been successful in driving global travel products through travel wholesalers and travel agent networks. His expertise lies in the areas of sales, marketing, technology and niche travel markets such as religious and luxury. Ryder holds a Masters in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey, and in the past, has worked for European tourism boards, travel retailers, and tour operators.
Said Phillips, “Tommy Ryder’s appointment completes a significant realignment at Travel Bound. The team structure now better reflects the architecture of the North American retail travel industry with National Account Management, Strategic Account Management, and a transformed Field Sales Management team.”
Overseeing the Field Sales Management Team is Grant Hayes, Travel Bound’s newly appointed National Field Sales Manager. Hayes joins Travel Bound from Allianz Global Assistance, where he was regional sales director.
Also new to the Strategic Accounts unit under the direction of Tommy Ryder, are Strategic Sales Managers Debbie Donovan and Aimie Johnson, who join from Kuoni Group Travel Experts and Travel Bound Groups, and Michele Keally who joins Travel Bound from TravelSavers.
“With the goal to bolster the Travel Bound brand as a dynamic, engaged and committed partner to the North American travel network,” Phillips also announced a new marketing team led by Carmen Cedeño, Marketing Manager. “Our priorities are to create value for our travel agent partners by sharing compelling, well-designed and informative content, as well as to inspire action through the digital tools travel agents need to secure business,” he said.
