Getting to or from the Paris airports will get difficult on Friday due to the strikes on the city’s public transport and passengers have been warned to plan their trip.
In a protest over planned pension reform the Unions on Paris’ RATP public transport network are a staging a coordinated walk-out on Friday.
Services to and from Paris’ main airports will be disrupted along with the public transport in the city.
Passengers were warned by the Paris Aeroport which runs the Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports that severe disruption is expected in the Paris region on Friday so they should plan their trip to/from Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports in advance.
Both the Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports are being served by the RER line B will have no trains at all running between 9.30 am and 5 pm. There will be limited service between 6.30 am and 8.30 am and 5pm and 8 pm. Only one in three of the normally scheduled trains running will be seen while those trains that do not run are expected to be extremely busy.
The T7 tramline will remain completely dysfunctional.The strikes will be badly disrupting the city’s busy network and will only have about one in three of the normal services running on routes operated by RATP.
Bus Direct shuttle services in the airport will run as normal but will be very busy and passengers should book it in advance via the airport website.
There will be normal taxi services but it will be nosier than usual due to transport disruption.
