The head of Travel Penticton is eager to look forward to more unified approach from various travel associations all across this region while confronting with issues including wildfires and floods from the last summer.
Thom Tischik said that this is exactly the message that he would be taking to the Thompson-Oknagan Tourism Association after getting elected to a director’s seat this month.
Tischik said that he was thrilled about it and even delighted since he honestly feels that it is quite a great way for them to go in South Okanagan area and also Penticton as they have representation on the board.
TOTA had been elected to the board of directors of the association during the annual general meeting of the group this month.
This implies that the South Okanagan would be gaining a little sway on the 15-member board.
Tischik feels that one of the important issues is that he would like to focus on the effects of disasters like the wildfires in B.C. that had impacted tourism throughout the province this summer.
He went on to state that they would be requiring some kind of plan and they would also want to have that plan to integrate into Destination British Columbia as well with how their messaging is done.
