The event is organized by Namibia Media Holdings (NMH) and supported by local and foreign tourism organisations, including the Namibian Tourism Board (NTB).
The event aims to provide a platform for Namibia’s hospitality industry to promote and market their products and services to all involved in the industry, as well as to the general public.
The Operations Manager at Sun Karros Corne Cocklin said that the event is a golden opportunity for industry players to exhibit and market their products.
‘The expo is a great place to exhibit, building contacts and forge business relations with competitors,’ he noted.
Sun Karros is situated about 20 kilometers outside the capital.
An invitation issued by the event organisers on Monday indicates that the expo is hosting local, regional and international tourism establishments during the four-day event.
“Since its inception in 1999, the Namibia tourism expo has consistently grown and has earned a superb reputation for offering the only centralized marketing platform for Namibia’s hospitality industry.
Apart from presenting a highly effective showcase for exhibitors active in tourism, the organisers have revitalized the exhibition year after year by expanding the showcase,” it stated.
Exhibitors include travel agencies, airlines, hotels, lodges, direct suppliers to the hospitality industry, tourist related enterprises, and representatives of food and beverage companies.
Tour operators, car rental companies and self-drive travellers can also view a fully-fledged motor vehicle show, complete with motoring accessories and hosted under the banner of the Nedbank Namibia Motor Show.
On the entertainment list, according to the organisers, food, beer and wine tasting will be available during the expo, while a host of other fun activities are line up to attract travel and tourism fanatics.
