Trump International Beach Resort MiamiThe Trump International Beach Resort Miami, which suspended operations on March 21 due to the coronavirus pandemic, will renovate its lobby. The 360-room property in Sunny Isles Beach will use this time of halted travel plans and stay-at-home orders to revamp its guest arrival experience.

The project will be led by interior designer Carolina Keimig, who oversaw the lobby’s original design nearly two decades ago. The refreshed interior will draw inspiration from the hotel’s picturesque setting. This includes using building materials such as wood and mother of pearl, as well as a natural color palette that will feature shades of bronze, seafoam green and blue.

The design will also include curved silhouettes that resemble waves. A preserved moss wall, a variety of plants and a honeycomb-style chandelier will help bring the outdoors in.

Keimig said that so much has changed in the past 20 years, both in terms of design and the world, His career has taken him all over the globe, including luxury hotels and residences in Panama, Peru, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

Throughout my travels, he have discovered that while we are all connected, the feeling of home provides a sense of comfort that is more important than ever. Returning to this project nearly two decades later, my goal was to create an environment that feels both luxurious and sophisticated yet also inviting and comfortable. That’s the key difference with luxury today; we can experience opulence while still feeling rooted and grounded.
