Tunisia tourism growth increases by 23 % in 2017

tunisia tourismA source from Tunisian government said that the number of tourist reached 6.7 million and there was a year on year increase in Tunisia’s inbound tourism in 2017.

 

A recorded increase of 23 percent was noted by December 20.

 

 

Around 6,731,565 number of tourists headed towards Tunisia, it included 18,361 Chinese tourists.

 

The revenue tourism generated was 1.1.2 billion U.S dollars showing an increase of 3 percent from last year.

 

The number of overnight stays saw an increase of 22.3 percent and reached 21.5 million. The island of Djerba located in the southeastern Tunisia ranked highest reflecting a 4.66 million overnight stays.

 

 

The Arab Maghreb, including Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Mauritania had 3,666,941 tourists showing an increase of 30.8 %. It ranked first in terms of the number of tourist visits.
