In Turkey, food tourism is pretty huge and popular. The rich cuisine of the country with enormous influences across the globe has made food tourism of Turkey really sprawling, as confirmed by the culture and Tourism minister Nabi Avci on Tuesday.
To quote Avci, ‘’ Turkey is not only made of sea, sand and the sun. Turkish cuisine has emerged from a place where different civilizations and cultures have intersected. There are influences of Arab, Armenian, Greek, Macedonian, Bosniak, Russian and Turkmen cuisines.”
He added that Arab tourists were the most interested candidates for Turkish cuisine. Chinese and Japanese travelers are more interested to discover the archeological marvel of Turkey while Indians are more prone to enjoy wedding tourism in Antalya. Turkey also has higher possibility on education, health, conference and thermal tourism.
To quote the Avci, ‘’ we are ranked sixth place in the world and fourth in Europe only by our sea, sand and sun tourism. Now if we add these items and present them properly to the world, there is no reason for us to not be among first three countries for tourism.’’
