Thomas Cook, one of the oldest British tourism giant explained that the number of visitors this year has increased by 11 percent in comparison to 2016, noting that Turkey has improved immensely after the happenings of last year.
Thomas Cook further added by saying that that the drop in tour sales because of terrorism last year has become much better as European visitors have lately increased in Turkey and Greece respectively.
It also highlighted that Turkey, whose tourism industry got negatively affected by the political shakiness, terror attacks and coup attempts last year, has developed on a positive note and has simultaneously become a preferred spot for customers yet for another time.
Peter Fankhauser, Thomas Cook CEO mentioned that visitors are drawn and inclined by the quality and value offered facilities and services of Turkey. The company had before said that tourists just cannot miss out Antalya, İzmir, Muğla, Bodrum and Dalaman no matter what happens.
As per the statistics released by Thomas Cook, the number of bookings grew by 11 percent as a whole, in spite of a 1 percent growth in 2017 prices. Thomas Cook shared information from other countries in the region and did not disclose the datas on how much demand for Turkey’s revival process changed. Therefore, travels to Greece, Bulgaria and Greek Cypriot increased by 22, 19 and 14 percent, respectively.
