As predicted by one of the biggest package tour operating companies in UK, number of tourists from Britain to Turkey has the possibility to increase by 30 percent in the next summer. Turkey’s Tourism Week started from 18th April and will continue till 22nd of this month incidentally coincided with the announcement. As of now, British tourists visiting Turkey is yet to get to the levels of 2016 as confirmed by Jet2holidays. However, the number is predicted to rise sharply by 2018.
Steve Heapy, chief executive, Jet2holiday’s commented that the country was “great value and was in much demand”. Heapy also added that the notorious ban of electronic hardware devices inside airline cabins imposed by some countries had proved futile to make a negative impact as his firm didn’t see any cancellations so far. In the month of March, the U.S. and U.K. introduced prohibition on carrying electronic devices in flights coming from few countries which included Turkey as well.
Ilker Ayci, Turkish Airline’s chairman said reporters on Thursday that his company is working hard to allow business class passengers to carry laptops inside flights. Ayci added that economy passengers can avail free Internet and Wi-Fi. It is also considered that 2018 travel packages from the U.K. will include flights from airports such as East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and Manchester.
