Turkish Airlines has suspended all the flights to Istanbul until 8am local time on Wednesday 29th June after the Istanbul airport has been attacked by three suicide bombers. The three Islamic State bombers killed 36 travellers and injured several others inside the Istanbul airport on the late hours of Tuesday 28th June.
The Turkish Airlines authority has stated in an official statement that any bookings from 28th June to 5th July on any flight to Ataturk airport in Istanbul will be changed or cancelled. The airlines has stated that the passengers, who have booked any of those flights, will get their money back. It has also been stated that the airlines will not deduct any amount from the refund money.
Iran has suspended all the flights to the main airport of Istanbul on Wednesday 29th June, after three militants attacked the airport on Tuesday.
Reza Jafarzadeh, the director of public relations at the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran has stated, “Due to last night’s explosion at Ataturk Airport … all Iranian flights are suspended until their safety and security are guaranteed.”
He has also stated that the flights might resume their service later on Wednesday 29th June.
