With over 50 countries interested to highlight their touristic attractions during a four-day travel exhibition in China, this spring, visitors to Shanghai will get an chance to explore Turkmenistan, possibly the least talked about and enigmatic country in Central Asia.

Turkmenistan, for the first time ever, will take part in the international travel and tourism industry exhibition dubbed Shanghai World Travel Fair, which will start from April 18-21 in what is the world’s second most populous city. The organizers are anticipated to put together material and presentations showcasing the best destinations in the Caspian country, in an effort to attract visitors to take a unique and memorable trip.

Turkmenistan, a country in Central Asia is surrounded by the Caspian Sea and mainly covered by the Karakum Desert, is popular for archaeological ruins like those at Nisa and Merv, major stops along the ancient trade route the Silk Road.

Awaza seaside resort, which is situated on the coastline of Turkmenistan along the Caspian Sea, is ranked as the main tourist attraction of the country. Introduced in 2007, the complex has modern architectural sites and six world-class hotels, along with a yacht club, cozy restaurants and cafes, spas and sports centers. Besides, an aqua park is proposed to come online sometime in 2020. Several tourists to the region are ignorant of the resort, causing fewer crowds. As a result, more space for visitors to unwind and enjoy the waters of the world’s largest lake and golden sandy beaches.
