TV campaign bids to attract more British visitors

£300,000 project of VisitScotland will contain footage of landmarks like the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the Kelpies and the Calanais Standing Stones.

During breaks, the adverts will feature in some of the most popular TV shows in the UK.
They plan to lure potential visitors, mainly those from northern England, London and the south-east.

To quote Helen Campbell, VisitScotland head of visitor marketing, “Scotland really sells itself on screen. Our dramatic and varied landscapes are bought to life in front of the TV audience, inspiring them to find out more about these stunning locations.”

“This short TV campaign comes at a crucial time for UK visitors who will be busy considering their holiday plans for the coming months.”

“We want to ensure that they put Scotland at the top of their travel plans – now is the time to discover Scotland.”

On Channel 4, ITV, the three adverts will run and other regional outputs until April 19th.
Other events and locations which feature in the trio of adverts are Camusdarach beach in the Highlands, Caerlaverock Castle in Dumfries and Galloway, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the Isle of Skye, the Falkirk Wheel and An Ceann Mor by Loch Lomond.
