One of the regional news media agencies quoted Damian Chukwu, Police Commissioner as mentioning that three suicide bombers suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents had detonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at various locales, killing themselves and 13 other regional inhabitants.
The first bomb blast had occurred at a bus station in Muna Garage.
The other one had taken place a few metres away from the first explosion at Muna Dalti.
Two suicide bombers on Sunday had detonated the IEDs strapped to their body, ultimately killing themselves and injuring certain members of the civilian task force, CJTF.
These violent explosions had occurred around 8.20 a.m. and created panic in the region and also around the metropolis as residents started calling each other to ascertain their safety. The Police Commissioner Chukwu also confirmed the incident while adding that their men were already at the scene.
