One of the teenagers was a boy from west Scotland, while the other was a female tourist from northern England. The police have confirmed that none of the deaths have presented the police with any suspicious circumstances. The police are trying to determine whether illegal drug use is involved in these cases or not.
The T in the Park music festival is considered to be the biggest festival in Scotland, which attracts more than 80,000 music enthusiasts over the festival weekend.
Angela McLaren, the Chief Superintendent has stated that their condolences are with the families of the two teenagers. She has also added that they are continuing to investigate the possibility of drug related issues in these cases.
The festival director, Geoff Ellis has stated, “We are shocked and saddened by today’s news and our thoughts are with the families and friends at this time. We are offering our full support and assistance.”
A formal statement has been given by the organizers on the Twitter page of T in the park music festival. The statement has advised the attendees of the festival by stating, “Don’t risk it – you don’t know what’s in drugs, where they came from, or how you’ll react to them, steer clear.” Also, they have advised people to report to the stewards or a police officers if they encounter anything illegal or dangerous.
The police have advised visitors to contact the festive staff, police officers or medics if they have any concerns or they need any assistance.
