The prosecutors accused Uber for their fraudulent commercial practices, improper use of personal data of clients and encouraging illegal activities. In May’16 Uber admitted that they can track the battery status of their clients’ mobile phones.
In cities like San Francisco, Munich, Stockholm, Mumbai; Uber has faced several regulatory challenges. In France, the UberPop service was suspended by the regulators in July’15. UberPop service allows everyone with a licence and a vehicle to start a taxi service without any registration.
Thibaud Simphal, the head of French office of Uber was fined €20000. Uber’s head of operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Pierre Dimitri was fined €30000.
The San Francisco born company, which mainly provides chauffeured car operations in various cities of the world, is making it to the news every now and then and giving birth to several conflicts.
