The position of the UFI regional manager for Latin America would be filled by Ana Maria Arango. The new office is based in Bogota in Colombia.
It would be serving the growing number of UFI members all across Latin America. It would also be the base for collaborations with national and region industry associations including AOCA, AMPROFEC, UBRAFE and AFIDA.
Corrado Peraboni who is the UFI president had said that UFI is the global association for their exhibitions industry.
He also went on to add that they were pleased at the fact that they were now in a position to also enjoy a permanent presence in Latin America.
This is actually a fantastic region that has a good amount of potential for growth especially in exhibitions and events. He then asserted that they are eager to connect the regional players with the international community to facilitate further growth.
The permanent Office and Representative based in this region would be strengthening the commitments of UFI to this region and also further the reach of the association that works through its Latin America Chapter.
Kati Hattendorf, managing director of UFI mentioned that Ana Maria actually has an extensive knowledge of the exhibition industry in this region, having worked previously as Executive Director of AFIDA and Corferias in Bogota.
She would be based at the new UFI Latin American Regional Office in Corferias, UFI member since the year 1956. She has also been the host of the UFI Global Congress in 1975 and 2014.
