It is yet to be clear as to what kind of further impact it would have on the flights between the UK and Spain, that generally travel via the French airspace.
One of the main air traffic controllers unions, USAC CGT has been supporting the national call for strikes, both in private and public sector, by the major French union, the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) in opposition to the new labour laws.
This strike action would be leading to major disruption to flights all across Europe and also lead to some delays.
Passengers have been requested to check with their airlines close to departure time for obtaining the latest advice on individual flights. A protest marhc is being planned on 12th September in Paris that starts from 2 p.m., local time at the Bastille and would be ending at Place d’Italie. Also, more protests are set to take place throughout many cities in France.
The general strike would coincide with an unrelated strike by Air France pilots that runs from 9th September to 12th September.
Head of the La France Insoumise political party, Jean-Luc Mélanchon has also called on French workers to strike on 23rd September.
