From 2016, more and more enthusiastic Chinese tourists are flocking to Ukraine as the country eased its visa policy last year. Eastern European nations are creating and seizing better opportunities to attract more Chinese travelers as they generate one of the largest outbound tourism markets in the world.
In 2016, Ukraine witnessed more than a 10 year-high in terms of Chinese travelers pouring in the country. The credit goes to the visa liberation regime which facilitates Chinese travelers to acquire visa in two Ukrainian airports.
Record shows that 20,555 Chinese visitors entered Ukraine in 2016 in comparison to 13,602 in previous years and these figures are expected to increase this year. At a recent meet in Kiev, a Ukraine-China tourism forum was organized by the Hospitality Industry Association of Ukraine which marked as the first step behind the promotion of Ukrainian tourism. In that meet, more than 20 well-known Ukrainian travel agencies were present aiming to attract more Chinese tourists than never before. Yanina Gavrylova, chairperson of All-Ukrainian Guides Association explains that Ukraine has many attractions to offer the Chinese tourists starting right from traditional sightseeing trips to exclusive thematic tours.
