UN World Tourism Organization and the UN cultural agency, UNESCO organized by the third world conference on tourism and culture in Istanbul had ministers from 32 countries along with tourism and culture stakeholders.
Tourism representatives across the globe were urged to create more “ inclusive partnership between tourism and culture” to ensure sustainable development of the sector.
As per recent studies culture tourism was growing at a faster rate than global tourism and during the event it was highlighted.
“For the Benefit of All” the conference was held under this theme and was aimed at ensuring that the gains were shared by all parties involved.
Firuz Baglikaya, chairman of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies that they lived in a period where cultural tourism was growing rapidly inspiring to produce innovative tourism ideas.
Sustainability in tourism will contribute to the economic growth of the countries.
Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy said tourism has an undeniable contribution to the national economies and 40 percent of travel in the world are tourism-oriented.
By promoting cultural interactions Turkey will be benefitting and the Turkish travel agencies have made major contributions to the country’s UNESCO World Heritage sites
