Also, as many as six miners have gone missing immediately after this earthquake had struck at the Rudna mine that is located in Polkowice in Poland, as revealed by the state media.
The centre of the quake was about 6.2 miles that is 10 kms underground, as mentioned by the US Geological Survey. The magnitude of the earthquake is 4.4. Since the epicenter of the quake was underground, it might have had a major impact on the mine.
The mine belongs to the KGHM who is the state-run copper producer.
A spokeswoman of KGHM said that there were at least 16 people in the mines who were in the danger zone. She also added that some of them managed to walk out of the mine during the time of the calamity.
Among the nine people who had been evacuated, one mad had did, according to the media reports.
Apart from this, the rescuers were also capable of finding another miner who had died underground.
However, three of the miners luckily were in a stable condition though they suffered from head and back injuries.
