The flight was scheduled to go from Austin to San Francisco and was delayed by than two hours after the woman, who has not been identified, apologized to passengers for being late because “she was going through a divorce.
She had to be escorted off the flight, and video footage reportedly shows the pilot, who was in civilian clothes, telling passengers she will stop so her co-pilot can fly the plane.
United Airlines said in a statement that, they hold their employees to the highest standards and replaced the pilot with a new one to operate the flight. They have apologized to the customers for the inconvenience caused.
Media reports suggested that, a passenger on the flight said the pilot, who was not in uniform, started to rant to the passengers over the plane’s intercom.
