UNWTO Commission for Africa kicks off in Addis Ababa

UNWTO logoThe 59th meeting of the Commission for Africa of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has commecned in Addis Ababa.


The meeting will discuss, among other matters, activities undertaken by to promote African culture and the challenges faced. It will also feature a panel discussion on how to make 2017 the Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development for Africa, State Minister for Tourism Development Meaza Gebremedhin.


Since China is the leading source country for foreign tourists visiting Africa, discussions on Chinese Outbound Tourism to Africa will also be discussed during the meeting.


Participants from UNWTO member countries, including Cabinet ministers, are attending the conference.


More than 137 million Chinese tourists tour various countries around the world annually and the conference will discuss ways to increase Chinese tourist flows to Africa.
