Spain has come first in the ranking second year in a row, which was first done in the 1980’s. Italy came in second and New Zealand third.
The magazine said that Spain’s position was based on it being a welcoming destination. The table gave the kindness of Spanish people full marks.
Spain’s cultural and artistic offering was also highlighted. It came second on that measure to Italy in first and ahead of Greece in third.
The ranking placed these countries in the same order for their adventure tourism offering. Spain scored 9.3 on fun, 9.4 on weather and 4.6 for the ‘sexiness’ of its people.
Spanish fashion scored 8.1 and bagged 7.5 in the modern category. The influence of its culture gave it a score of 8.7.
