Christine Lawson. Senior vice president, Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants said that the expansion of its properties in Amsterdam would raise awareness about the brand in Europe. She added that the brand is currently witnessing a steady growth.
Kimpton has been planning to offer a facelift to Amsterdam’s Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre by adding sophisticated dining rooms and luxury boutique rooms spanning a 270-room property.
This hotel is among the 18 new hotels that are being planned by Kimpton to open next year.
Christine Lawson also said that Amsterdam is an ideal locale to launch the very first boutique hotel and educating the regional inhabitants about the features of this premium brand.
Lawson further stated that Kimpton, that comprises a range of as many as 62 hotels, is looking forward to opening hotels in 13 new locations.
One of the largest overseas markets of the Kimpton brand is definitely the UK. However, Lawson has said that the recent vote of UK to quit the European Union did not have any major impact on this hotel brand despite the pummeling of the sterling.
She said that her brand did not witness a drop in the hotel booking and business seems to be lucrative. At the same time she added that it is quite early to predict Brexit’s impact on Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. She also said that they would keep a vigil on the market and would make adjustments if they were necessary.
